Good Job, Little One

Yesterday, my girl showed to me another YOU RULE, green paper. I asked her what did you do that made your teacher happy.

I was lining up quietly while my classmates are all wild and noisy.
I was impressed! Well, our girl can be wild too when there's kiddos around. It's the fact. Not just her but with other kids in general.

She loves school so much. Everyday is an exciting day for her. My role as a mother, kung saan siya masaya ako siyang suportahan, di ba?....lolz! Mao nay motto sa Fantastic Force ha! I'm glad our girl is in a regular school enjoying her life as a Kindergartener.

Lord, I don't know how many times I have to say this but Thank you, thank you for putting our girl in our lives as a couple and to the whole family. I will do the best as I can do, while I'm still alive for teh sake of our one and only child.

Homework

It's September and our girl's assignment starts pouring at her early age. I can't believe it! What I'm thankful from Above that she's very diligent and has the enthusiasm to work on it.

Just for the weekend, they have to look for numbers around the house and draw a picture where they found the numbers. Continue reading the numbers, letters and writing names in lower case. There's a paper to use though and our girl just finished everything today.

Hopefully, she will keep up what she's doing right now. Dada and Mama are here to support her. When I'm at work, it's the Dada that teaches our girl how to write her name. She needs to work more on that matter.

Now that my girl is in a regular school now and I have so much time all day, I am thinking of going back to school.

Fish Tank

I just feed the hungry fish in our tank. Looking the water inside, I think it needs a fresh one.

One of these days, it's gonna be one of my major, major projects around the house.

Hubby said, he will do it and I just gave him a look. He knows what it is all about.

Anyway, I called our mower Guy if they can just cut our grass every other week instead of a weekly career for them...wink!

Well, it's close to the Fall season and seems like the grass is growing slowly. At least, I can save some bucks.

Hubby was shaking his head while I was on the phone. Well, I'm just being practical with all the bills that's coming every month. For sure, it's a never ending ordeal.

Going To The Movies

Every month, I take a trip to go to movies. I usually go with my wife. She frequently picks the movie, especially if there is a good movie out that she really would like to see. I have no problems with that, especially since she has good taste in movies. I always enjoy the movies she picks out to see. Occasionally, I will also go see the latest action movie that is showing with a couple of my co-workers. Regardless of who I go with, I usually go to the same local theatre in town. I like going to the same theatre because of the familiarity it gives me. It really has grown on me. I have gotten to know the layout of the movie theatre and exactly what to expect while I am there. Most often, I go during the early afternoon because of my work schedule. My shift ends in the morning, so I am able to take advantange of the sparse crowds during that time. I always make sure to lock my car in the parking lot, just to be safe. And although the theatre is fairly close, I still make sure to set my best home alarm system prior to leaving for the theatre. I've always enjoyed going to the movies, and I always look forward to my next trip there.

Much Time In Facebook

Yes, I admit, I spend too much time in my facebook world. It doesn't mean, I neglect my chores at home and family though. It's just the way how you manage you time...wink!

Lately, I noticed that my blogging world is blooming with opportunities and can't deny I don't visit my page much often. Here I am now...want to be active here if given the chance.

Car Registration

I'm here waiting for my girl to get out from her school. I was busy this morning with the house chores and didn't make it to the DMV for the renewal of my car's license plate.

Well, I was thinking of renewing it after picking up our Kindergartener then off we will go to the Asian Market to buy some fish.

We got plenty of veggies from our Filipina friend's garden. She gave some to us and I'm so blessed and happy to have such kind of friend, you know?

I will be dropping her off to the airport for her flight going to where her husband is working. My pleasure to send her off so she can be with her husband for the most precious three weeks.

Life is good on earth! Have faith and keep trusting HIM for He will direct our path. Have a great weekend!

Glad We Have Direct TV

The other week, we got a call from Direct TV customer service representative. He was trying to promote to us with this great directv deals, being a loyal customer with them.

Well, we've been with Direct TV for almost four years now and we like their service. In fact, we even added an additional receiver in our bedroom so my dearest husband can watch his food network channel without going up and down the stairs. He loves the food channel and I'm so glad that hubby's enjoying his very own channel at home. He copied lots of recipes and I'm not sure if he has the chance to cook them all. We will see how he moves around the kitchen. I know for sure, it's gonna be pots and pans all over, what can I say, he is a guy and guys are tough even in the kitchen.

Anyway, I checked my email today and got a message from our Satellite provider with directv deals. I clicked their website at directsattv.com and looking at it, what a great deal and promotions they offered to the viewing public and for us, as loyal customer.

A Backpack

According to the paper that the teacher gave me, my Kindergarten needs a backpack where a folder can fit in without folding it.

Well, she has 4 pink backpacks, some from her 5th birthday and some from her last year's Christmas present. I thought she can still use it but I guess not.

After taking her afternoon nap, (yes she has to take a nap after school as much as she can) I promised her that we will go to the store to get the right size of a backpack.

She has Monday folder and it's the 1st Monday since she's in school. I went over her folder and saw this cafeteria number that she needs to memorize for a faster and smooth service. I let her say it without looking the number and for sure, I'm so proud of our girl for memorizing it. According to her her teacher told her so..

I did some follow-ups on her homework because she wants to do it by herself. Looking at it, she did a great job. Unbelievable how Kindergarten has lots of homework.

I'm so proud of my girl and I'm glad we send her off to a regular school where a kid can be around with other kids to enjoy their life to the fullest.

Lord, thank you for being there with us. Thank you for seeing the desire of our hearts.

Back To School Again

It's that time of year again. Back to school shopping begins. It's time to load up my child and go shopping. We have to get up early to beat the rush. I set my security choice adt alarm, and it's off to Office Depot, Wal-Mart, Old Navy, the mall and Target.

Making a list of necessities and sales is essential. We start off for paper, pencils, crayons, and a new backpack. Of course Wal-Mart will be the first stop. Most of the basics are found there. Of course with the economy and their cheap prices they are sold out of most necessities. Next we're off to Office Depot. They may be a bit pricier on some things, but they are always in stock! There is usually not a crowd either.

Next we head to the mall for some shoes. It is so important to have some cool shoes for the first day. If we're lucky we will find a backpack at the shoe store. We will hit a few stores while there and grab up some fancy clothes. Of course my little man has to look cool for the girls in school! Off to Old Navy to finish up the clothes shopping and last will be Target. Target always has the everything we have forgotten elsewhere.

A full day of shopping has worn both of us out. Now we will head home and get some much needed rest for the first day of school!

Open House

My girl and I will attend an open house for her new school. It's gonna be tonight but I'm still thinking of the other school which is The Academy Charter School. Angelina's still #26 in the waiting list. We've been wait listed since she was 3 year old. There is an opening in the afternoon though but it doesn't fit my schedule.

We will see...only change is permanent, right?

Have A Nice Day

Relaxing Afternoon

Right now, Angelina's taking her afternoon nap. If I leave it to her (nap time), she won't do it. So I reinforced that she has to take a nap so she can grow and makes her brain smart.

I'm sure, when school starts...she won't be taking naps no more.

Wherever, I go she's always with me except for some occasions where kids are not allowed or I am just seeing with pure adults.

She got the matured side of attitude and so independent. Time flies and she's growing like a weed.

Anyway, she confined to me one night that this girl can't be her friend because she use bad words. I asked her what kind of word is that? She whispered on my ear and it was unbelievable nasty words.

I told my girl, remember, Angelina...we raised you to have moral and value in life. People will surely like you and love you if you use kind words that comes out from your sweet mouth.

"I Am, Mama and I'm sorry if I talked back, okay?"

"It's okay to express your right, little one as long as no bad words that you utters. God can see you in everything you do."

"I love you, Mama and I really like you being my Mama," her say.

Taking A Day Trip

The bitter chill of winter gives way to the gentle gradual time of Spring when the flowers bloom and nature is reborn. The busy engine of life never truly stops especially for the human species. Work goes on and companies make and lose money. For five days a week, the human condition is to earn a living and all the stress and demands that earning that living entails. Then comes the weekend that magical time when work is forgotten and the body and mind turn to play.

Families love to take day trips. Simply, the day trip could be a quiet drive in the country or mountains or a day at the beach in the hot sun and cool water. It does matter what kind of trip the family takes the important thing is to go and have some fun. Before a family takes off there are some things that must be done. It is a good idea to bring along some food and water, sunscreen, a change of clothes, and some tools in case of a breakdown. A cell phone is also a must for any day trip. The last thing to do is to set the alert alarm system before leaving the house.

My family loves adventure and the adrenaline rush of being scared out of their minds. One of the best day trips for this kind of activity is the amusement park. We live in Denver and one of the best amusement parks in the area is Elitch Gardens which is part of the Six Flags Corporation. A day at Elitch's is a day of being jockeyed around like a sponge ball, twisting and turning on very fast coasters, turned upside down numerous times and waiting in endless lines for two minute rides.

With all that said and done, Elitch Gardens is still a very fun place for kids and to be a kid again.

Lunch At Home

While I was at work, my friend IM me. Instead of typing, I asked her if I can just make a phone call and off we go with our conversation.

We both decided to eat lunch in our house right after I get off from my job. Before 12: 00 noon, I checked my phone who is in a vibrating mode and I sure had some missed calls.

I returned the calls in order as it was received. As I called my friend, she told me that she's in our house because our other friend told her that we're having lunch....I was laughing, so, so hard. I was just talking about leftover food from yesterday though.

Well, yesterday...didn't know that my Mama was making some nilagang baka, pansit and adobo. If I just knew it, we didn't go at all at Sweet Tomatoes for our yesterday's lunch.

Anyway, I asked her what time did she arrived in our house and how did she get in? Silly questions ha! Well, she simply said, "I was here past 12:00 noon because our friend said that we will meet 12: 00 noon and I rang the bell many times and finally your Papa answered and open the door." Then I asked, "Where's our friend?" "Oh, I thought you will pick her up?" her say.

" I do, but I won't get off work not until past 12:30," my reply. "in that case, I will just pick her up now," her eagerness.

When I arrived, they already set the table and started eating...lol! Don't you just love friends? I do...they are already part of my life. No man is an island and no man can stand alone...according to the saying.

At 2:15 PM, we all get out from the house since I have to be at my 3 hrs job by 2:30 PM. My friends will go to their appointments too.

What a nice lunch and fellowship we had. Thank you, Lord for the food that we have everyday in our table and thank you for everything.

The Midweek

I was called to work yesterday in the Preschool. I thought it was just yesterday but it's for the whole week beginning Tuesday. Bummer! I already set up an appointment with my friend. I stick to my word that I can't work.

Next time, make it clear so I don't have to plan anything ahead....lol!

"You're off today and make sure you will be here on Thursday and Friday."

"Not a problem," I said so.

I just got a new puppy a couple months ago from my mother, and he is now almost eight months old. It's That Time Again

When looking for car policies, one of the biggest questions people have is, "How can I save money?" Given the current state of economy, individuals are concerned with reducing costs, conserving their resources, and making the most of the money we have.

Anyway, the premium of my car insurance will expired this month. The insurance company that I am with right now is sending me a noticed to renew my policy.

I only insured my car and not the truck of my husband since he's not using it at all. Looking at my premium payment, seems like it's too much from my pocket.

As a single women, it can sometimes be scary to live on your own. Personally, I constantly worried about becoming the morning news. There are a few things that I did, not only for my own peace of mind, but also for my safety. As a the owner of a single family home, I do not have people directly above me, behind me, or beneath me. This makes me an easier target for a predator. Our Happy Toddler

Yes, she's officially 5 year old this month and she's loving it. "Mama, I'm a big girl now and please don't call me a baby," her say.

"Little one, you are our only baby though so let me call you," I said while embracing her.

Anyway, I made an appointment for her 5 year old visit and I'm pretty sure there's a shot to be done. I need her vaccination record though for her to enroll in the Kindergarten.

At this point of time, we're still debating which school she's going. Either in a Northside Christian School, Academy and North Mor. I have been called with two schools and made an appointment with them too.

We're looking of some angles that benefits everyone living in the household. Still working on it before the month of July comes.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MAMA

Our girl had a Mother's Day party at their school. I promised her to be their just in time. Because of the unwanted traffic, it took me a little bit late.

juice, and a cake ready for me in the table. She reserved a

chair for me too and according to the source, she kept peeking in the window, hoping that I show up.

When she saw me at the

door, I can see how happy she was to see me. "Thank you, M

ama for coming." Wow! On her tiny mind, I can tell how thoughtful and loving she is. It's a genuine one.

We stayed for a while and munched the food that she gave me. Since, I have to go back to my job, I told her that we have to leave and thank the teachers for a very great prep

aration.

The next day, when I dropped off our girl, the teacher called Angelina while I was signing her in in the log book. When I was about to say goodbye to her she handed me like a sun picture and a pot of flower, hand-painted by her.

Glad that I become a Mom and our child makes me someone special in her young heart. To be a Mom is so rewarding. All those cares (pag-aaruga) that we do for our children isworth it.

Thank you, Kujaji for being a great child to the whole family.

Anyway, she asked me what I give to my Mama. Her Lola showed it to her and she said, "Good job, Mama!" I gave her a wink and we both hugged each other.

Angelina's 1st Swimming Lesson

We want her to learn swimming as early as 2 year old but because of her skin problem (eczema), we opted to wait until she's 4 year old and understand the concept of "no scratching" effect.

She promised me to be good and not to scratch her skin but there are times when it's so dry that she can't avoid it specially when she's sleeping.

Since, at this stage of her life where learning is the best, I enrolled her at last. She's so happy about it and so proud to tell her Dada and Grandpa about her 1st swimming lesson experience.

Reflections From the Past

This picture was taken when I was once a part of the teaching force at VNHS (Valencia National High School) in our very own province, Bohol. The school is 24 kilometers from my hometown. It wasn't that far to ride a jeep, bus, motorcycle or a private hitch car of Engr. Madrinan, who works at the Garcia Limestone.

Anyway, one of the duties that's being entrusted to me was being the Matron of Sponsors with the CAT-I Unit (Citizen Military Training) aside from being a volleyball coach and a regular classroom teacher to a third year High School students.

Coaching the volleyball was okay with me but as a Matron of Sponsors, I did say, I threw a feet about it. I didn't argue with our principal (who used to be my teacher in High School) but I was just being honest with my feelings.

If I remember, this is what Sir Inting told me, "Sing, (he called me Zosing though...) I won't give you the responsibility if you are not capable enough but I believe in your talent and skills."

I still want to say more but I just told myself to shut up my mouth...wink!

Without much ado, we had meetings and practices after class with the 14 selected sponsors. They also need to study for any questions during the tactical inspections and a presentation during the program.

I was so nervous, which is a normal feeling, to be the host of the said affair. ( My golly! I tried my very best despite of my broken English.) Hindi naman pwedeng tagalugin, where I can talk straight pa naman, kasi 'yon talaga ang pinag-aralan ko or being an EMCEE in our Visayan dialect.

I never hosted a program in my whole life and just reading all the biodatas of my intellectual and lovely sponsors was enough to drained me out and asked for something to drink...lolz! All these things happened during the Presentation of Sponsors.

After the program, there was this engrande food being prepared for the inspectors team. We're being told by our Commandant to entertain them and be the hostess at the Home Economics Building where all the food were being served.

I was not sure if t'was still part of winning the 1st place with regards to the Tactical Inspections.

One thing for sure that I can't forget...this stylish and fashionable co-teachers of ours wants my skirt to be skimpy and sexy. Oh my gulay, bechay!

I did an inch above knee level and 2 inches for my lovely sponsors.

The following year, 1st time history in our province, as far as I knew, that the town of Valencia hosted a Provincial Meet and the main venue was at VNHS. We're being told and advised to be the usherettes during the said affair. It's not me who's doing the job but our lovely sponsors but it was me delegating who's who to be pin up with Corsage and Garland.

After two years of having the said position. There is this beautiful teacher who's new to our team and I turned over my position to her and she accepted it without saying no because she's the type of woman that likes to be in the crowd and it really fits her personality.

Glad that it was over!

Enjoying The Nice Weather

Outdoor fun is great!

"Mama, I want to go biking since it's so nice outside," her excitement after taking her afternoon nap.

For the past days, she's on her bike and scooter while I was busy working outside our yard.
I finally finished up the bush trimming thingy.

I'm not sure if I want our grass green due to water consumption..wink! I just walked around the grass and pulled those Dandelion so they won't spread all over our yard.

After everything's done at home, I told Angelina that she can go biking at the park as a reward for being a good child to the entire family, friends and relatives...wink! She had a kicked out of it and invited her Lo and La. Seems like my folks like the idea of walking in the park instead of the neighborhood.

What A Bright Day

Another Friday once again. Weekend here I come. Angelina 's invited to a birthday party tomorrow. It's her classmate's 5th birthday.

Too bad, today is trash day and seems like her Lo put the invitation in the trash unintentionally.

Poor, Angelina, I guess she can't attend.

Well, it's me who will be dropping her off to the said birthday party and I don't feel like it.

Not that I stop my child's happiness but as I always said, I don't want to go to a party that I don't know the host. It's just me and I relate the story to our Angelina. Kids are kids and just like our girl, she likes to have some fun.

At the end, she understood that I can't take her to the party because I don't have the address and phone number. I'm not sure if I have to appreciate what Pa did with the invitation card:))

Let's Go Safari

In my wildest dream, I want to explore the beauty in South Africa. My husband went there many times with his ex-wife, adopted son and his Dad. Just looking all the pictures that they took, it just reminds me of my very own beloved country, Philippines.

There were lots of time in the past, Hubby invited me for a week vacation in Africa so I can see the exotic place with lots of attractions where my eyes can feast. I refused back then because of the amount that we have to spend. In my mind, I always compare the value of the dollar and peso and the equivalent to it.

I was thinking, it's a waste of money and don't want to go out of the country except back home. Yeah, we've been to some states in America for a pure and genuine vacation. My husband likes to travel and we enjoy flying or driving just for fun and relaxing moment with family.

Whether I like it or not, according to my husband, he will take me to South Africa and enjoy the white beaches with my two-piece bikini under the heat of the sun. We can go diving with great white sharks and most of all Family Safari in Africa.

We have a Book Fair today at work. During our down time, I had the chance to see the neat stuff that they are selling.

One of them that caught my eyes is this book titled "365 Days To Live Cheap". It was kind of interesting so, I opened the book and did some scanning.

Maybe later, before I go home, I will buy a book for our little one to read. She likes reading and she always want me to read one story at night before going to bed.

Antique Mall

I had my eye appointment yesterday afternoon at 2:00 PM. Right after I dropped off our girl to her school, I drove to my appt.

It was kind of early to get in, so I wander around the shopping center. What caught my eyes is this Antique Mall as what it says on the sign. I always pass this place almost everyday since it's the same street where we live but never been inside.

Yesterday was my curious adventure inside. It's kind of cute looking all the stuff they have. As I can see not all are antiques though and I noticed that there's always a division and has a number in every section called "booth #". They have some neat stuff but didn't have the guts to buy one. As much as possible, I don't want more junks inside our tiny abode. Simple and a little bit organize is all I want.
I don't want to say that I am a clean freak individual kasi nakakahiya naman to say it and only to find out nagkagulo din naman pala ang bahay Better to be humble than to boast eh, pagsisinungaling din lang naman pala...wink!

Anyway, back to my Antique adventure, for curiosity's sake..I asked the clerk at front why there are booth numbers . Only to find out that there are people renting those space, hence the sign "Antique Mall". It's like a tiny mall where you can walk around.

I asked how much is their smallest space to rent. This nice middle-aged gentleman show me the tiny spot and said that the price to rent is $82 per month. For the profit, 10 % will be his share.

I narrated to my husband about my mini-adventure at the antique store and he was tickled pink. He said I'm so cute (siyang maysabi na cute ako ha and not me) and so innocent look ( sa kanyang paningin 'yan ha!...lol!).

Well, I just expressed my feelings about the store. My concept, they're antique so they must be pricey but I was wrong. It was like a garage sale to me...just like what our neighbor have every summer in her front yard...wink!

Now, I know what is an antique store looks like. I am so glad that I had the chance to get in. It was fun and enjoyable.

What To Do, What To Do!

I talked to my on call job that I'm looking for a regular job in the afternoon now and they can't call me anymore or rely on me.

I was told by our director that if I can wait, there's this one worker who's gonna be leaving pretty soon to join the airforce/military.

Bad me, I am already hired and accepted with my new preschool. I agreed with the time, schedule, responsibility and salary. I did watch the video and toured the facility and meet my new co-workers.

I am happy because I got hired, right? As usual, I'm not teaching since all the teaching will be in the morning. I f I do so, it's gonna be an informal one...something to do in the afternoon like crafts, arts, singing and anything that would kill the children's boredom. Yeah, I am lucky that they are in need of a group leader. Just a note, group leader needs to be ECE certified or out of country equivalent, Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education.

Bad two, I applied for another job without telling my husband...wink! I thought it was a surprise and makes him happy so I can have some reinforcement in paying some of his co-pay for all his medical expenses. It's true husbands are husbands, they have the pride. In other words, he don't want me to work saying that we can still survive despite of our meager income.

"Dear, I'm just wasting my time whole afternoon," I insisted. "That's okay, play with your computer, watch your Filipino channel and go out with your friends," he said.

"We even want you to quit your morning job," his shocking news to me.
"Who's we?" my questioned.
"Dad is planning to go home pretty soon and he wants you to be his social worker, home care or whatever they call it and he needs you full time," his narration.

"No, I don't want to quit my job and it's not a hindrance! I can take care of him after I get off from work. I can work the 2nd and third shift and be around you guys," saying my side.

"Dad will pay you more of what you're getting from your regular job," he continues.
"I know, I know! What if something happen to him? I'm loving my job and it's hard to find a job now that would give you a very flexible schedule with the here and there picking up and dropping of our child to school," my further explanation.

"We will see, it's not right now though but sometime overtime. One thing for sure, don't accept the regular preschool job if you want peace in our family," his further ramblings.

My FIL and I had a hard talked about it and moving to his place will be a huge transition. They want us to put a sign "for sale" to our house and talk with our realtor. Huh! It's not that easy...as we can see, not a lot of buyers at this point of time. I told them, FIL, BIL, DH that what if I quit paying the house payment and afterhow many months, it will goes to forclosure?

"It's not a good idea, Zosie," my BIL has to say. "You put up a lot of money to your house already and you're building up equity to it. Why not try to put it in the market?"

Transition, transition, transition! What to do, what to do? I want one step at a time but time like this...we will see how far I (we) reach our goal.

There's so many things to consider.

Angelina's school, my job, my biological parents and etc.

I'm a home body but to be at home 24/7, oh my golly! It's a different story...lol!

I guess, this is what we called...community service and helping to the elderly. I love changed but it depends on my liking...so help me God.

Need to have some feasibility studies with regards to this transition thingy.

Talking About My Child

Wish I have all the energy just like her. But as I get older, I'll be weaker overtime...lol!

Anyway, I changed her nap time routine. Instead of a morning nap, she has to take her nap after school. I noticed, as she's getting close to 5 year old, she has a hard time taking her nap or maybe because grannies are not imposing hard and very strict about it.

As much as possible, I want our girl to take a nap even just an hour everyday. That makes me feel better and at peace.

We started the after school nap yesterday and it works really good on her. She was dead tired, I guess.

Starting last Sunday, I have to take her to church an hour early so she can join the choir practice in preparation for the kids presentation on Easter. It's just one song though and I'm about to go crazy (just exaggerating) listening the song in our car every time she rides with me...lol! "Please play the CD for me, Mama."

The Sunday school teacher gave each parent a CD so our child can sing along with it as a practice tool. Our girl is singing and hamming to it. Seems like she knows the song already.

Remember the Kids Expo? There was a Karate Demo at the event and now my girl is bugging me to join the Karate. I explained to her that she needs to be 5 year old to join the martial arts.

Oh my golly! Of all the activities she saw, it was the Karate that she's fascinated with. We will see. I already told her that she can only have up to two extra curricular activities when she's in a regular school. One on the weekend and one after school. That way, I won't be running here and there that much. I still have time for myself and our other activities together.

Yesterday, she told me that her boy classmate will make a ring and a necklace for her.
"Why would he do that?" my questioned to her.
"Because he likes me, Mama!" her say.

What can I say? Kids are just fun to be with...lol!

Reliable Car

Driving is a great privilege and owning a car to drive is a total package.

Having a car in the United States is a necessity. It takes us from here and there to work, school, church, appointments and joy riding with friends of course.

As always, handle with care, I mean we have to take care of our cars. Every six months or a yearly maintenance is very important. It's better to be safe than sorry, right?

Hearing the news over the radio and seeing them on TV, there's a recall for almost all model of Toyota products.

My friend who is living in downtown Chicago called and told me about it too. She owned a Toyota Corolla, 2002 model and super glad that it wasn't included in the Toyota recall. I understand that a lot of people owning different model of Toyota were not happy about the recall but sometimes, things will just come up from the open. It's a good thing that the Toyota Company announced it in public for the safety of all the users.

Back to my friend's car, she told me that she brought her car to the nearest chicago auto repair for maintenance and whenever there's something wrong with her car. She talks about how professional, quick and honest this auto shop she's going to.

One time, while she's in the hospital (where she works at as a nurse), the auto repair people called her if the y can replace the car's water pump. She was not even thinking that there is such a thing in a car. Yeah, we only drive and don't have any idea or clue what are the things to be done with our cars.

Anyway, I'm happy for my friend in Chicago. Even though she's just living by herself, she manage to handle all the things to be done, specially the quarterly or yearly check up of her car.

Having a car is just like having a child almost. We have to take good care of it and make sure the maintenance is up to date.

The Spring Has Sprung

It's the first week of March. Time flies and there's so much to do and accomplish inside and outside our home.

I've been out in our yard today, pulling some weeds here and there. Yard work is fun if it's not against your will working with all your mights. It's a very good exercise and refreshing to be outside in our backyard. In fact, our little girl was having fun playing her scooter while I was busy raking and pulling the dried leaves with the nice weather we had earlier during the day.

As I was raking, I saw our Tulips happily sprouting and the grass is changing its color, a little bit greener than brown.

Now, that I get used working outside, I learn to appreciate the beauty of all the flowers, plants and trees around our house.

Before, I only take care the inside of our house but now that my husband is on health restriction, I have no choice but continue what he started with our surroundings. Spending an hour to two hours outside is a great feeling. I have to be more vigilant of all the plants and flowers growing outside our home and be a friend to them. I can't promised them how good I am taking care of them but I will do my best as I can as what my dear husband had started. Seeing some flowers bloom and plants growing just brighten my days.

I'm thinking right now, if I have to add more flowers this year. There are many types of beautiful flowers that can be grown. Mostly that we have are perennials and I'm here in the internet at this moment searching what kind of flowers I need and how to take care of them.

There's too many options to choose from and I need to think more about it. Spring is just around the corner and need to do something to make our yard clean and beautiful.

Pa's 69th Birthday

We went to their favorite restaurant in town, Heaven Star.

It was my treat to my beloved Pa not to mention other stuff.

I praised the Lord for adding another year of his life.

There's so many things in our life that we must be thankful for. Giving God the credits is a great privilege. We can't be a perfect human being in the eyes of our humanity but we are in His love.


To you, Pa...thank you for being our Father, a great mellow grandpa to your grand kids and a very understanding husband to your one and only wife. You mean so much to us.

Furnish Filter

Finally, our filter in the furnish was changed. It's a good feeling to breath a clean air.

Now, my job is to unscrews those tiny holes where the air go through and vacuum all of them.

I don't know how many days would it take but it's my project before the month of February ends,

I was Guilty But Need to Be Firm of What I Say

Well, our girl was not taking her nap when I came home yesterday from work.

I told her that once the clock says 10:00 and more it's time for you to hit the bed.

She was in bed, when I came home but pretending or just started her nap time. It was already past 11:00 AM.

She falls asleep about 11:30 AM and didn't bother to wake her up not until 2:00 PM.

When she woke up, "Mama, you didn't wake me up, it's already 2:00, I missed my school!"

"See what happen when you won't take your nap early, you overslept...tomorrow if you will do the same thing, another no school for you," sharing my thoughts to her.
She was really crying for missing her Monday at school.

She settled down after a while and said, "Tomorrow, you will wake me up so I won't be late, right? As long as I am sleeping already when you come home?"

I said yes to her and gave her hugs and kisses for opening her mind of what is good or bad.

Yeah, I was kind of guilty of not waking her but sometimes I have to be tough for what I'm doing for our child.

Making An Appointment With Our Health Provider

I remember the first few months that I arrived here in the land of milk and honey, USA. I was so amazed how everything is almost different from where I was born and raised.

Hubby was my mentor and I do appreciate all his hard works. According to him, there's cuteness on how I reacted and respond to everything that was new to me.

Anyway, one day, I applied for a job. One of the requirements was a physical exam. I had the form with me and I need a doctor's signature that I am capable to work.

I called Hubby at work, asking if he can take me to a doctor. Well, I was so excited to begin with, I mean working for the 1st time in the foreign land. So, Hubby was kind of busy when we had our phone conversation. "I will take you, Dear and I better go because I have a client next to me."

Hearing the right word, "I will go with you," I prepared myself to get ready to see a doctor.

When Hubby came home, he was surprised seeing me in jeans and blouse. Normally, I wear shorts inside the house and he can always tell the difference in me, whether just staying at home clothes or an outing one.

He really apologized to me of not explaining any further of what's being transpired during our phone conversation. He told me that going to a doctor's office in America is by appointment. First we have to call over the phone and set up with a time and day where the doctor is available to see me.

Blood work and blood testing can be an irritating process but once it is vital for us, we just have to be patient and have to wait accordlingly. Amazingly, I'm so impressed of the new technology where we don't have to wait for hours and hours in a clinic for some blood works and other health related issues.

Sunburst Grill On Snowy Sunday

As you can see in my other blog, I posted about staying at home due to weather condition.

I did have a great time watching ASAP XV and the Buzz in the afternoon and at the same time talking with friends around the United States. We're taking the advantage of my free minutes on the weekend.

While I was in the middle of watching the "The Buzz", another friend called and we talked for quite a while. Later on, we had a three way conversation. As we laughed and talked about anything under the sun, our topic was diverted to food, specially soup. I forgot to offered them my Sotanghon soup because we're all excited to go to a DimSum Restaurant at Heaven Star.

WE don't have the lucked when we went there since DimSum time was over at 3:00 PM. We had planned B and it was the Sunburst Grill. (A very special thank you to my KUMARE, for giving us the address via internet.) I've been there but can't get the exact route. It was my friends first time to the restaurant.

We ordered, sinigang na Baboy, Guisadong Bihon, sizzling grilled squid, Crispy Pata, Chicken B-B-Q and Halu-halo for dessert. Weird? I mean, Halu-halo for a cold and snowy weather? One of our friends is pregnant and she has the craving for it. Every now and then it's good to eat in a Filipino reataurant, where this place is the only Filipino eatery in our area not unless if you want to drive to Colorado Springs.

It was a lot of food for three people, right? We didn't eat all of them since we're all full. So, we took some of our leftover.

Our jounrney didn't end there...lol! We dropped by to E-Mart, Not H but E...wink! Our first time there and we saw lots of Filipino delicacies. So far, this is the only store I've known that carries lots of Filipino goodies. I was almost tempted to buy 50 Lbs of rice but looking at the weather outside, it's not a good time to haul some heavy goods...lol! One of these days, I will take my parents there.

WE arrived home, safe and sound past 9:00 PM. The snow was pouring hard while we were on the road. Thank you, Angie for the smooth and safe drive. Salamat sa pag-agwanta...katawa lang ko ani nga term ba...winky do!

I Missed You Like Crazy

They just guested at Wowowee this afternoon and all the people were so happy and excited for their come back as a love team.

I love to watch Wowowee on Saturday it's because there's a lot of celebrities. I have three birthday invitations to go but I chose to stay at home to be with my Hubby.

Besides, its been snowing for three consecutive days now. I don't like driving in the snow with lots of cars on my way. It's fine going to work because there's no one in the road, as if it's just me and it's only 2.5 miles away from our residence.

For our dinner, we have adobong manok, steamed veggies and paksiw na Pompeno. For our dessert, we had ripe sweet Mango.

Glad To Be A Working Mom

Having a toddler and at the same time working is very challenging. I always love to work ever since. I remember those days when I just gave birth to our one and only baby girl. My husband told me to quit my job and be a full time Mom since day care in the USA is very expensive. I mean, budgeting to put our child in a childcare while I'm at work is not worth it.

Well, I only work part time, 24 hours a week, 6 hours a day, Monday to Thursday. I did cry during that time when my husband said so. I really like my job and it helps to meet our needs or shall we say my needs. Hubby and I had a hard talk and we finally come to a conclusion that I can continue working if my employer will agree and work out with my schedule. Glad that my boss really understand my situation.

Well, I will just be away from home for 3 hours only though since our girl is still in bed when I have to get up and be at work. Not too bad, as if I'm just taking a break to go shopping or be with friends. No dull moments to be away from home. Thankful, I found a job that really works for me and my girl.

Anyway, I work for a company that always use a hands on computer. It's the nature of my job aside from being on the phone.

As our years age, computer is always on the rise. Connection and server with our computer is very important so our work can run smoothly. Glad that we have sun microsystems servers

to help as out with all our needs when it comes to computer and networking.

I do understand, that if we have troubles with our computers, we have to get hold of the IT people who are our co-employees and it's them who will get in touch with the Sun Microsystems.

Working with a computer, being handy-dandy all the time is great and fun!

Sports Is Fun

Have you heard about Ultimate Fighting Championship, (UFC)? Are you familiar with this kind of sports? Well, it is a mixed martial arts (MMA) kind of sports that is love to be watch by the viewing public.

The whole members of our family likes to watch UFC. We are interracial but we have one thing in common, watching some fights whether it is boxing, UFC or wrestling.

Our very own countryman, Manny Pacquiao, a boxing titlest will have this very popular fights coming. Once and for all, we will watch the said fight through pay per view in our very own home sweet home.

I would say, watching something interesting is kind of fun for the whole family to enjoy and relax.

Aside from being the Manny Pacquiao avid fans, there's more fighters that we can check out at UFC & MMA News for the great fighters all over the world.

This coming weekend, Saturday the UFC will debut in Sydney, Australia with UFC 110 featuring Fighters.com’s fourth-ranked heavyweight “Minotauro” Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (32-5-1) versus Cain Velasquez (7-0) for a shot at UFC champion Brock Lesnar (4-1).It is live on per per view. Valentine's Day 2010 With Grandpa

She wants Grandpa's day special on Valentine's.

She asked me if we can buy a Valentine's card and a balloon for him.

Her request was granted and we went to Walgreens to buy the stuff that she wants.

Valentine's 2010 falls on Sunday, so right after the church service, we drove to Grandpa's place and he was so happy to see his granddaughter who always has a very big grin on her face.

Grandpa was already in the wheelchair when we arrived. While we were there, Angelina was kind enough to push Grandpa's chair where the two of them were strolling in the hallway of the facility.

Every now and then Grandpa has to shed some tears of happiness that he still has the chance to be alive after a month of coma and a total of almost 4 months in the hospital bed.

I therefore say, God has a purpose why he put Grandpa's life back into into action. We don't know how long but at least he got the chance to say some words to his children, granddaughter, sister, DIL, friends and relatives before anything happens again.

God is really great! Just cry out and hold on to HIM. He's always there to do what's best for everybody. Prayers from the anointed and faithful believers really plays a great impact in someones' life.

They Missed Our Girl

Came in to work this morning without tagging my girl. Clients, patrons, customers and friends were asking where is the little Angel of mine.

"We sure missed her presence greeting us early in the morning," the common phrase I've heard from them.

I said thank you to my bosses for allowing me to take Angelina to work. It was so nice of them.

When I woke up this morning, my girl was still in bed and soundlessly sleeping. Now that she has company at home I allowed her to sleep a little bit late around 9:00 PM since she don't have to wake up early.

To be honest, she was liking going to work with her Mama. We slept as early as 7:00 PM so she can have enough sleep during those days. Looking at her, I believe in the saying..."Early to bed, early to rise, makes your body healthy and wise."

Wish, I can sleep like our girl from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM but as I aged, my sleep pattern is totally different from her's.

As always, we're always on schedule of what we're doing every day of our lives. We both likes our daily routines.

Just as I came home today, she was so happy greeting me at our back door, "Mama, I just took my shower with the Lola and we used the Palmolive shampoo from the Philippines."

You think it was cute? I would say so...

How did she know that it was Palmolive? It was her lola who read it for her. She can read some 2-3 syllables but not the Palmolive syllabication...lol! She pretend she's reading to it but technically, she's memorizing it. Amazing how kids handle their learning skills.

Got to go and drop her off to school. Have a great Wednesday, ALL!

A Child's Listening Skills

I was smiling deep inside my heart when our girl asked me of something that happened.

She was there during the whole ordeal and was just being quiet but when I was driving and she in her little throne of happiness start grinding some interesting questions. I never though that she was very attentive to the whole conversation that transpired on that day.

Here's the scenario: Someone has a very important event to attend to bu didn't show up. We called the home phone, cell phone and did everything that possible but didn't get a reply. Our thoughts, for some reason this person forgot about it or who knows?

I was summoned to helped out from the start and didn't have any clue that someone's temperature was boiling.

To make the story short, after the event was over, the person who is in-charge showed up and apologized for the messed she/he made.

My! the person she/he/'s asking for apology just ignored her/him as if she/he didn't exist. Hopefully, they will solve their issues...ahehhehe!

Our girl was kind of ....ha!

Oh well, who can force that someone to talk if that someone don't feel like. According to Angelina, "Hala ka!"

The Moment of Truth

I was in the mood of surfing some photos of our one and only produced. It seems like yesterday that I gave birth to her.

It's so amazing and unbelievable how time flies so fast. No holding back, she's a grown up active toddler of ours.

Yesterday, as we drove going to her Pre-K class, she was in tears for not bringing her show and tell object or material.

"You don't have to cry," I calmed her down while driving.

"But, Mama...my teacher won't be happy with me," her say.

"That's okay, here's your blanket...you can take this (holding and showing her blanket) for your show and tell," my line of words.

" It can't be Mama, because we have to bring something that starts with letter V," her explanation.

"Well, I know what you gonna do. When it's your turn, just raise your hand and say "Victory!", V is for victory, so problem solved," my respond to her needs.

She was all happy and said, "That's a perfect idea, Mama."

Yeah, they always have show and tell and it's the second time that she forgot to prepare something. I'm sure, she learned from her own mistakes and looking forward with her preparedness alert!

Words of Wisdom

If you can't be a pencil to write anyone's happiness, then try at least to be a nice eraser to remove someone's sadness.

For a child like his age, the celebration was held at Chuck 'n Cheese by Englewood area.

I just told Angelina that were invited on the same day which is Sunday, right before going to church. It was her reward for being a good girl while I was away for a night.

Goodness! She was in so much joy to be with friends including Chuckie,the Mascot. What can I say? She's a child that likes to laugh and enjoy the company with the other kiddos in town.

She did start knowing Chuckie when she was one year old with the same event, a birthday party that we're invited.

Lol! I want to blah, blah and blah more but my time is gold not silver...wink!

Walking Doll

Someone gave Angelina a walking doll. It's about as tall as her! We can see from her eyes how happy she is.

To tell you the truth, I joined with her playing with Samantha (her name according to Angelina) and let her walk with both of us holding her hands...lol!

I have photos of course as a remembrance to this very beautiful little girl Samantha.
