Light, Camera Action!

As if for real....
I gave up after three times of trying. My model for tonight is in unpredictable mood.
She thinks it's funny, well she's a 3 yr and 7 mos old kid. What to expect?....wink!

Goodbye opportunity and hope to see you next time.

After that ordeal, I gave my girl a bath and then we ate our dinner.
I cooked nilagang baka (beef soap with vegetables), pickled eggplant, dried squid and spaghetti for my esposo. Need to serve the elderly population in our home sweet home...muah!

Eggplant with bagoong and vinegar...atsal talong

Nilagang baka for the cold weather for my turista in town...I'm not a Chef but I'm just thankful that they ate what I place in our table.

Thrilled and Excited

We have to pick up Ma and Pa at Denver International Airport right after work. We can't wait to see them after 2 months of not seeing them.

Most of all,our Angelina's so anxious to see them. She really missed her Lo and La. In fact, she did a light cleaning in MA and PA's room where she invaded as her territory. She gathered all her Teddy Bears and put them back on her room except for Elmo and the Raccoon.

"Tada...now, Lolo and Lola have plenty of room to sleep at night while Elmo and the Raccoon will watch them," her mumbling.

Da and I looked at each other and smiled with the same thing in our mind about Elmo and the Raccoon as Ma and Pa's guardian Angels according to our bubbling Angelina.

We thank, Angelina for her hard work and appreciate her eagerness in doing so. She can be stubborn in some point of her life but kids are kids what can I say...

Back to my MA and PA's arrival, I'm glad they like living with us especially with my American husband. There's a purpose for everything on earth. Anything on this planet is under God's control and protection. He has a plan for each and everyone.

Anyway, a friend ordered "Calamay" as "pasalubong" but I doubt it if it still gonna be good. They left our home province 5 days ago for Manila and stayed in my sister's place. We'll see...
For all I know, the "ginamos", dried fish and dried squid are still edible...wink!
My church family has also a pasalubong for us. My sister won't tell me when I asked her over the phone.

I will tell you when I saw the package....wink! Have a sunny bright smile, GIRLS!

Bright and Freezing Cold Morning

Sunshine is expected today after days of snow, but it won't bring temperatures above freezing. It's Brrrrr......!!!!!
Anyway, my driving yesterday was a challenge. I was so nervous (but not a nervous breakdown....wink!) but with girlfriends who were always on the look out, we made it to our main target and went home safe by the grace of God.

Yesterday was a Chinese New Year. The store that we went to will closed for about an hour. We're just so lucky to arrived just in time and grabbed the stuff that we
want.
We dropped by at Target on our way home and did some grocery shopping and girlfriend had some clothes shopping. Since it's too late to cook dinner for our stay at home "husbandries" ( for the night ), we got some "To Go" mexican food at "Qdoba".

Before I forgot, our lunch was so delicious with the expertise from our girlfriend's cooking. We had beef soap with vegetables, fried red snapper fish and adobo nation (pork). We had a well-balanced diet so far and our tummy were really happy. Thank you, "friendship" for your eagerness to feed the hungry...whoa!

Arrived home by 6:49 PM, 11 minutes before "24" starts. What a DAY!

Denver Weather

Finally, another set of snow is coming to town since yesterday morning. We need moisture in our area and we want the snow to come and visit every now and then.

Today, we have cloudy and cold with light snow. Light snow accumulations of 2-5 inches possible. Highs in the low 14s, low temperatures near zero Monday night.

My Hubby almost drove me to work this morning. Well, our street was covered with snow and we thought that I need reinforcement from him. As we saw the main street, it was clear and I told my Dear Bunch that I can do it by myself. I did a U-turn and dropped him off. He woke up as early as me to check on the market though... it's his life and enjoyment. No interruption or he will be so depressed....ahem!

Anyway, girlfriends are planning to go somewhere today. First off, we will have lunch in her humble abode before heading up to our main destination. It's a blessing that someone will feed you...ahehehhe! You didn't ask for food but God provide in so many ways. Let's be thankful and thank you girlfriends for your fellowship.

P.S. We'll just keep an eye with the weather "girlfriends", you know what I mean...lolz!

For my weekend getaway, more stories to come on my other blog. I like writings no matter what!

On Your Mark Get Set...Obama for President!

A huge crowds brace icy weather to witness the historic swearing-in of the first black US president.

Barack Obama, the 44th president will take his oath on the same Bible used at the 1861 inauguration of Abraham Lincoln whose Emancipation Proclamation ended slavery.

Two million people and more are expected to descend on the heavily guarded Capital City for the first change of administrations since 2001.

Around the world, Obama's election electrified millions with the hope that America will be more embracing, more open to change.

To the new President, I believed you are to succeed despite the enormous burden placed upon your shoulders.
Congratulations, good luck and God Bless America!

Martin Luther Day

Happy Martin Luther Day! A Holiday for Federal and State Government, so with some private businesses. For us, it is considered a working day.

Although, we received a lot of calls asking if we are open for the public. For sure, we do and we expect lots of kids coming in to use our facility since it is a no school day.

Tomorrow is the same issue...

It's the inauguration of our newly elect President Barrack Obama. It's his Take Oath to office. So, lots of businesses will be closed for this very meaningful event in honor of our new president. It's a very historical event in North America to have Obama as the first Black president.

As a loyal citizen to this country, my heartfelt congratulations to the newly-elect President. God Bless America, the Land of the Free!

P.S. Charisse P will be flying to Washington for an intermission number, as what she said last week in the Wowowee show.

Did you know that Obama's Chef cook is a Filipina? Isn't it cool?

Asap '09 and The Buzz

If you only knew, there was a technical problem with the TFC channel last night until this afternoon. I just watched part of the ASAP and had a great time with The Buzz.

Yepey! Gerald, Kim and Jake guested at The Buzz to promote their new Soap Opera that will start tomorrow titled "Tayong Dalawa". As you may all knew, Dyosa was over last Friday. So, "Tayong Dalawa" will take place the time slot of my favorite KAPAMILYA show on TV.

On the other hand, Bebe..former Rustom Padilla was one of the guests in The Buzz talkshow. I was laughing out loud and was tickled when Ruffa G told Bebe that back in the olden days, he was her crushed pa naman. Rustom (Bebe) told Ruffa na it's okay andyan naman ang brother ko.

Yes, it can't be denied, lantad na as in ang pagkababae ng dating macho gwapito na si Rustom. He was staying here in the US pa nga, New York in particular taking up modelling course.

For sure, I do enjoy watching the The Buzz Show. I considered myself a Christian but still like to know what's going on in the showbiz industry. Mababaw lang naman ang pangarap ko ang tumawa ng tudo to ease some of those tinatawag na wrinkles for life...wink!

Miss Fitrum 2008

I was so happy and excited with the result. Ms. Davao, contestant #26 by the name of Anna Leah won the said Miss Fitrum. She was our bet with all the contestants. Hubby and I like her genuine smile with the very provoking dimples. Besides, she's smart and witty plus body and poised. I would say she's a package.

For Ms Fitrum 2008, She received P500,000.00 cash, contract for Star Magic, a trip for two to Singapore and a brand new car. For the winner, I'm so happy for you and it's just the beginning of your success in life.

What A Nice Weather

Hubby, Angelina and I went to Golden City, West of Denver to meet someone. Seems like Spring already, weather wise. We did some walking in the heart of Golden. I've been to Golden before but not the main strip. Nice town with the panoramic view of the mountains.

After our appointment, we decided to eat out at Mountain Inn.

We did more walking after our meal. We entered every shop we saw. Did I buy any? Actually, no...there was no sale for sure which is my happiness when it comes to shopping. Hubby bought some bath salt and bubble bath.

We stayed for two hours in Golden and drove more towards the mountain. It was getting dark then and don't have the chance to get some photos of the West. What a nice weekend to start with.

My heartfelt thank you for my Bana for bringing us with him. In time like this... AWESOME!!!

Fellowship With Friends

Once again, I had the chance to visit my kababayan, Alleth and her little girl Maddei. Thanks to our very generous driver Angie with friendship Sharon.
After visiting Alleth, we all went to Cindi's abode and had a delicious dinner with the gang. We missed our friendship Lerio who didn't go with us. Thank you, Ms Cindi for the great dinner.

Friday Shopping

I went shopping with Ivy and Annie later during the day. It was really busy in all the stores that we went. Lots of people were taking advantage of the door buster for the early bird shoppers.
It's true, if you have the diligent and patient with all the chaotic people at the store, you can get great deals. Is it worth it? For me , it is and I don't have any problem with the crowd.
I bought some cute outfit for our little girl. When I got home, she was so happy emptying all the sacks. Her eyes just sparkled upon seeing all the clothes that she got.
I was kind of tired from hopping to one store and another.
I better go and get some rest.

Thanksgiving Dinner

As a tradition, we have to celebrate our Thanksgiving within our family circle. No friends involved or invited.
We held the said occasion at my FIL"s home. There were five of us, (ME, Hubby, Angelina, Fil and william Gary).
My FIL just ordered the whole set of food at Safety. He just warmed all the food in his oven and what a great dinner we have.
I supposed to be in a Filipina's house since I was invited for a Filipino Thanksgiving. I was so tired and lazy then fall asleep. I heard the message in our voicemail from her wandering where I am.
It was dark then when I woke up, so I called her and apologized for not showing on her dinner.

An Email from My Boss

I checked my email this morning at work and one of it is from my Boss. They already put up the Christmas tree and just need to be decorated. If I have time, I can start putting up the Christmas ornaments around the tree.We have three Christmas tree here at work. Maybe later, I will make the tree beautiful. I need to visit and jot down some journals here in my blog world. I have plenty of opportunities to grab but I don't have much time or shall I say, I can't do personal business here at work. If those opportunities will still be available 'til I get home, I'm more than happy to grab those.

The Guilt In Me

I felt so bad for not attending my former co-worker's baby shower. I had a hectic schedule last Friday preparing for our little gathering in our house in lieu of Ma and Pa's go away party as the main event.
I just gave her the present today. There were 18 people showed up per Cind i( my co-worker) during the said shower.
Right now, I'm watching the final of the Dancing With the Stars. It's really exciting to hear the result. I can't wait the announcement of who will be the champion. Oh well, may the best dancers win!

Alarm Didn't Go Off

Did I ever tell you how I woke up yesterday and today? No, I didn't woke up in the wrong bed or someone's bed...Wednesday, my Banana woke me up by 4:20 AM. He was waiting for me to come down on my regular wake up time. After twenty minutes of waiting and it never happened...thank goodness he came by our room and did an Eskimo Kiss so I can be awake. He's so sweet, right? Anyway, my alarm didn't go off. I looked at it and only to find out that it was set to PM instead of AM. Well, our Angelina likes to manipulate my belongings specially my cellphone which I always use now as my alarm clock. I would say cellphone is better as long I have to set it right than the regular timer that you have to plugged in. I had an experienced with it also. There was a brown out in the middle of the night and the alarm didn't go off. I just woke up on that particular morning when our Custodial at work called me home. She was my alarmed clock and I was in the panicked mood as far as I can recall.Today, I heard the alarm and just turned it off and try to go back to bed for like 25 minutes. About 4:38 AM, Hubby kissed me and told me that it's time for me to go to work. Oh well, he can be my prince in a shining armor...wink! For sure he is!

A Curious Customer

He's new in the area and likes to use our facility. I gave him a tour around the building and introduced him with all the equipments we have. After a walk through, I gave him our Brochure so he can look and see what other activities that we're offering in our recreation. We go over the pricing, membership and passes.I tried to explained that if he comes in at least 3 times a week, a one year pass is a good deal for him. He's smiling at me and said, "Do you have any commission or incentives if I get the one year pass?" "No, sir I don't," looking at him eye to eye. "Too bad, you did very good with your sales talk and you're a great help to me," his rambling."Thank you!" I said in reply. He signed up for a year membership and he's gonna be one of our valued patrons in town.Don't you just love to be around people?

Thursday, November 13, 2008

My two neighboring friends invited me yesterday to go shopping with them after work. Both of us have this coupon at DSW for $20.00 as a reward for our birthday from this store.Too bad, my Banana can't take Angelina to her Twinkle Toes dance lesson since he have tons (huh!) of paper works to finish. That means, I was obliged to do so. I told my friends, maybe some other time when I have a real day off and my Bana's able to watch our piglet.

Another friend called and leave a message if we can go out today and have some fun at the Mall. I doubt it if I can. My parents asked a favor last night if I can take them to the store today so they can buy something for their Philippine Pasalubong. Putting two and two together, I have to spend time with my MaPa while they're still here. Definitely, I will take them to the store today and eat out since their days are counted...lolz! I have to call my friend later and tell her of my situation. She will understand though...

I have this hectic schedule on November 22 if I really have to gamble, but first thing first. MaPa will be leaving on that date and it would be kind of hard on my/our part to see them leaving. There's nothing I/we can do about it and I/we think it's the best decision. Having my parents here for a year and 2 months is a very memorable experience for all of us in the family specially for Angelina. I'm so proud to announced to the whole wide world how lucky I am to have my parents here even for a short period of time. To you Ma and Pa, thank you for the love that you have showed to the whole family. I know you can't wait to go home and relate your experiences living in a foreign land. My siblings for sure will be laughing out loud when you tell all your stories...lolz!

Anyway, there are three birthday parties going on that day. Two of them will be held in Chuckie Cheese. I already confirmed my no show to both but for this evening affair at Chuckie Cheese, why not? Actually, the kids will have to enjoy the games, plays and pizzas at Chuckie for 3 hours and after the said event, adults will have Filipino food in the celebrant 's residence. For sure I would be more than likely relax after sending my parents to the airport on this very special day.

Happy Veterans Day

Veterans Day is an annual holiday honoring military veterans. Both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states. It is usually observed on November 11.

Throughout our history, America has been protected by patriots who cherished liberty and made great sacrifices to advance the cause of freedom. The brave members of the United States Armed Forces have answered the call to serve our Nation, ready to give all for their country. On Veterans Day, we honor these extraordinary Americans for their service and sacrifice, and we pay tribute to the legacy of freedom and peace that they have given our great Nation.

In times of war and of peace, our men and women in uniform stepped forward to defend their fellow citizens and the country they love. They shouldered great responsibility and lived up to the highest standards of duty and honor. Our veterans held fast against determined and ruthless enemies and helped save the world from tyranny and terror. They ensured that America remained what our founders meant her to be: a light to the nations, spreading the good news of human freedom to the darkest corners of the earth. We must be very proud of all those who served our nation!
