Change Is Good

I appreciate the guest post, Vito Rivers

Our move to the Orlando area was such a positive change for me and my family. We are so close to the beach and live in a great community. The kids are just as excited as we are. I created a to-do list for each of us so nothing was forgotten or overlooked. Utilities were on my husband’s list. The very first thing he did was log onto TVByDirect.com and set up an installation date and time on the very day we closed on the house. Just like a man! He just had to have satellite while we were unpacking each and every room. I gave him a hard time at first but I have to admit, I really enjoy watching VH1 and CMT while working. Event he kids are singing and dancing while working on their rooms. It has also been great to relax to a movie in the evenings after working so hard all day. There is no doubt, moving is not for the light hearted. It takes a lot out of everyone but change is so good.

Feeling Special With My Designer Perfume

Guest post written by Sandy Terrace

I'm a doctor, so I have to be careful that the beauty products that I use won't bother any of my patients. Well, one thing that that means that I miss out on is wearing my perfume that I love. I have quite the collection of perfume at home and even though that's the only thing that I really do with my beauty routine, it kills me that I can't really wear it to work. So I make sure that I wear it when I'm off duty, even if it's just when I'm at home relaxing around the house.

Every few months I get the itch to buy another perfume. I don't really buy that many purses or things like that, so you could say that's my one shopping vice. When I was online shopping around fora new perfume, I ran across soem info on direct tv bundles. After I looked through it some I decided to change over our home service to one of the bundles I found on there.

I think that my next perfume purchase will be the Gucci Guilty perfume. I like that it's a bit of a punch with it. It also smells really different from my other scents.

What A Joy

21 days of vacation was not enough to be with family in my country but I did spend most of my time with them instead of friends. Since I don't have time to be with friend's outing, they visited me at home. It was nice seeing some of them.

A's having so much fun playing with the kids in our village. She don't even want to go back here. I agree with her. It's just me and her. If not with Grandpa, we will be staying their for good...((:

Upcoming Couples Camping Trip

Guest post written by Gabrielle Stevens

Now that our kids are off in college and not around the house all the time, we're doing things that we put off doing for years before. Just one of those things is planning a really big couples trip for us and some of our closest couple friends. As much as I miss having my kids around all the time, it's nice to do things like this whenever I'd like.

I guess that because it was my idea, I was kind of elected to do all the planning for it, but I'm fine with that. I've always been a very take charge person that would rather do the extra work to make sure things turn out the way that I want. While I was online looking up camp site pricing, I ran across teh website http://hearingaids.miracle-ear.com/hearing-locations/south-carolina/g/greenville/. I looked through it and after that I decided to sign up for a hearing aid test, which is something I've meant to do for a while now anyway.

I do have most of the details for all of our couples camping fun planned out, I just need to make sure that we go grocery shopping and buy the appropriate things to cook there before the big weekend!

Arguing Over Chloe King's Super Powers

Guest post written by Jamie Ventura

You could say that I'm kind of a nerd. But I embrace it. Yes I love Star Wars and a whole treasure trove of all kinds of sci-fi shows to go along with them. But with all that barely useful knowledge about supernatural powers of characters, I can really put up a heck of an argument about watching shows with supernatural stuff in them. It's actually one of my favorite pastimes to do.

Last week my roommates and I - who's as equally nerdy about this kind of stuff - had an argument over the supernatural powers of the main character in the Nine Lives of Chloe King. Because we were arguing, I had to look up a detail to clarify for sake of the argument and while I was doing that, I ran across http://www.Wirelessinternet.net. I showed it to my roommate and we decided to switch over our house's internet service to it.

the part that we were arguing about in regards to her Chloe King super powers was how hers differed from the other supernatural creatures on the show. I ended up being right!

Great!

After all the calls, back and forth...it is now confirmed! They said, money can't buy happiness. So might as well, enjoy life to the fullest!

Just a note: In a right way of course. It's just my way of living. Christian people need to set as a good example. Am I good enough? Just kidding but true..

Have a happy day, All!

Tom's Home!

Thanks to Darwin Barton

Ever since my son went away to college my husband and I have had a hard time connecting with our youngest two. Our family just doesn’t feel complete and I knew I had to do something to bring us back together again. I had the best idea and ran it by Tom, my eldest, and since his school’s only an hour away he totally agreed. What we do is, the first Thursday of every month I make a big dinner and Tom comes in then we all watch a movie together as a family! We’ve got ExpertSATELLITE.com satellite so there are tons to choose from and a different family member picks each month. I love getting to see Tom so often and the other kids really feel like home is home again when he’s here! It’s been just a great experience all around for us and I hope it continues for the next four years since Tom’s going to be away for a while and he’s a lot older than the other two kids!

It's Thursday

Hmmm...early bird catches worms, so to speak. Pwede pud early bird stumbles first. Ouched!

It is the final countdown...I will take the challenge!

Hiking In Estes Park

Enjoying the summer of 2011. We're supposed to be camping last weekend. I told my friends that they can go but sad to say, A and I can't go because I had an appointment last Saturday. Aside from that, I'm scared of those bears in the middle of the night.

So, we agreed last Friday to visit mother nature and breath some fresh air...

If I just know how to drive going to the mountain, maybe I can go there, once a week just to be with the kalikasan. Feeling ko kasi, malapit ako sa kanya...hu! hu!

To my avid followers in this blog and to my fellow bloggers, I apologize for my absence here. I wil try my very best to update this blog of mine.

Mom's Place

Thanks for the article from Jermaine Haynes

My mom loves where she lives but she’s a little bit more a free spirit than me. She’s out on this old ranch house in the plains and she’s a bit more removed than I’d like her to be but she says it’s all the better for a nice, peaceful life.

She also has three dogs and it does give them a lot of room to run around, I suppose. I helped her get the house fixed up when she first bought it after dad died and we did a lot to it. Put in new hardwood floors, installed a skylight and even went to TexasElectricityPROVIDERS.com to make sure her rates were as low as they could be.

She spends most of her time in the barn we converted into an art studio and she generally seems happy as a clam being out there on her own really living off the land. She’s always been a bit of a strange bird, my mom, but I love her for everything she is and isn’t!

Missoula Children's Theatre

Our A is enrolled in a Summer Day Camp in our area. She needs to do something while she's on a summer break from school.

This morning, I let her auditioned for the Missoula Children's Theater with the play, "The Pfifer". Not too sure with the correct title.

Anyway, she passed the audition and they will do a one week rehearsal and performance will be on Saturday. Since she's only 6 year old, I'm sure her role is too cute to be a rat...:))

She's liking it, to be a part of the play but she's loving the Day Camp better.

Well, after their practice for two hours, she will go back with her Day Camp class.

To have a child is not cheap...hu! hu! You have to spend some bucks in order to get involve for some activities.

Donors, sponsors and patrons are welcome...just kidding but it can be true, right?

A Loving Tribute To My Beloved Dearpie

"My life is given as an offering to God. The time has come for me to leave this life. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Now, the crown is waiting for me. I will get that crown for being right w/ God. The Lord is the judge who judges rightly, and He will give me the crown on that day. He will give that crown not only to me but to all those who have waited with love for Him to come again." -II Timothy 4:6-8

Truffles for Valentine's Day

Guest post written by Drew Bridges

We're expecting our first baby in April, so I thought that I would try and make this Valentine's Day extra special for my wife. I thought about taking her to a nice restaurant but I decided that it would be better for her if I cooked at home because she's so uncomfortable if she can't relax and put up her feet at this point in her pregnancy. So that's exactly what I'm going to do for her.

But I don't really cook all that often, so I've been doing lots of research online to see if I could find some good recipes for it. While I was online doing that a few days ago, I came across the website get.wildblue and after I read through it a little bit, I decided to switch over our home internet service to the provider.

I'm going to make her some spaghetti, which is what she's been craving a lot so far. But I'm also going to make her some chocolate truffles for dessert and might even make those a few days before the actual meal.

Too Loud!

Goodness gracious! It's my first time to watch Manny's fight with lots of people. So excited and happy that everyone are having a great time. As of this moment, the Pacman vs Mosley fight is about to start.

Goodluck Manny, our Philippine hero, one of a kind!

The Living Word of Christ

Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ

Third Quarter

After a month of not blogging, here I am proudly coming back for a cause. Anyway, I have a hectic schedule as a wife, mom and worker.

In spite of everything by the grace of God, I am still alive and kicking with a positive outlook in life with the motto, "I can do it!"

Anyway, time flies and my girl will be in 1st Grade pretty soon. Classes will be over in May. The point, she's doing great with her Kindergarten life. She has many friends to mingled with and her grades are excellent based from her performance evaluation and grades. She is always happy for being one of the student of the months.

Last week, was their third quarter awarding ceremony and as I promised to our girl, I attended the said event of her life. It was a quick program but I saw the happiness in my daughter's eyes. She's so proud of herself going up the stage to get her Certificate of High Honor Roll and the Certificate of Perfect Attendance.

Looking Back on the Fictional Zombie Epidemic

Guest post written by Ashley Singler

I got really into zombie stuff a few years ago when I watched the movie 28 Days Later for the first time. But after all of that and watching about every zombie movie that I could get my hands on, I decided that I could give reading zombie fiction a chance too.

I went online to get some ideas about what zombie fiction is available out there now and while I was looking up that stuff I ran across some Clear Wimax prices that sounded pretty good, so I switched over my home internet service because of them.

I found this World War Z book where it's these fictional verbal retellings from survivors of the world zombie war. It's definitely more creative than just a regular old narrative book about the whole ordeal. This way it took you through what happened to a bunch of different people, including this soldier who was stranded out in the middle of a zombie zone by herself and did what she had to, to get picked back up by a helicopter and taken to safety.

Balikbayan Boxes

Shopping for a cause is fun but packing them is kind of tiring. Well, I'm trying to ship six boxes: 2 Jumbos and 4 standard sizes.
The promo: if we send six boxes, one box is free shipping and I'm trying to pay just the five boxes.

I'm still half-way with my goal together with my little helper. I had a great time shopping for 70% off shoes at DSW. I'm sure my siblings will have a blast wearing their comfortable and reliable shoes.

I better continue packing now....:))

Busy Day

Yesterday was a busy day. I was trying to catch up with my volunteer hours in our girl's school or I will have to pay some amount. 36 hours per year is not bad at all.

Around 11:00 AM, I leave the premises and picked up Hubby at home for his appointment. We made it on time and time flies, I fetched our girl at school and so with our carpool. We ate lunch in a seated restaurant and went home to take an afternoon nap.

Around 4 PM, we started getting dressed for our malling and grocery shopping. Flatiron Mall was our point of destination looking for Be, Holli and Abre---- on sale, wink! There were but not my taste of style.

Anyway, this one stool for hair straightener in the mall told me about the best for our hair. If ceramic was popular for how many years, now they are introducing the TITANIUM thingy. Amazing how all these chichiburichi in life. Just curious, paretty soon TITANIUM will be all over the globe...lolz!

Anyway, while at the mall, a friend called if we can eat at Golden Coral. I was hungry then and so with Angelina. We left the mall and had a great dinner.

Our eating session was over past 9 PM and decided to go grocery shopping at TARGET. There were some great deals at the store and I grabbed it with pride and joy...wink!

It was past 10 PM when we arrived home. Friday is my day off and turns out to be a busy DAY!

Happy Sunday!

We went to the early service today so we can meet someone after. Indeed, we had a great time together and later, we've been invited to eat out at Applebee's. Since hubby didn't go with us, I just ordered a meal of baby back ribs so we can eat together as family at home.

As usual, my dearpie was kilig to the bones thanking how thoughtful his wife is.

We Love To Watch Arthur

This guest post from Josue Nichols

I'd have to say that my favorite children's educational programming is Arthur. We watch it on PBS via Directtv satellite deals nearly every day. When the kids are watching Arthur it's hard not to sit down and join them.

Arthur is a show based on the books written by author Marc Brown. It's great. The characters have unique personalities just like a regular group of school-aged friends. They share good times and bad together and try to make it fun.

Arthur is surrounded by his friends Buster, Brain, Francine, Muffy, Binky and more. There is the bully, the brain, the best friend, the tomboy, the rich kid and any other ordinary children that you might come across on a school playground. The show is based around Arthur and his family. We get to experience real childhood situations through a child's eyes.

Marc Brown makes it fun to watch Arthur lose his first tooth, get a new baby sister, learn about lying, bullying and friendships. Not to mention Arthur's little sister D.W. she's always getting herself into sticky situations or bothering Arthur. Our kids are able to laugh at and with Arthur and relate to what he's going through. Sometimes it even leads to conversations about school and friends. Arthur is good, wholesome fun for the whole family.
