Trust and Honesty Is an Investment You Put in People

Here is a short story with a beautiful message...

Little girl and her father were crossing a bridge.
The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter,
'Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river.'
The little girl said, 'No, Dad. You hold my hand.'
'What's the difference?' Asked the puzzled father.
'There's a big difference,' replied the little girl.

'If I hold your hand and something happens to me,
chances are that I may let your hand go.
But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens,
you will never let my hand go.'

In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond.

So hold the hand of the person who loves you rather than expecting them to hold yours...

This message is too short......but carries a lot of Feelings.

Fall 2012

September 22nd was the first day of Fall for 2012. We had the chance to see all the trees in Steamboat Springs. It was so pretty just to look at those Aspen trees changing its color for the season.
With much thankfulness to our dear friend who take us out to be with mother nature. Thank you for your time with us. Very much appreciated from the bottom of my heart.

It was a fun day and to all, Happy Harvest Fall Festival!

Oil Pastel Portrait of a 2nd Grader

She likes art class and loves to draw. She don't want to be an artist though because she want to be a whale watcher lifeguard. Can you see how simple and nature lover she is.

Anyway, I think her self-portrait is kind of cute for a 7 year old trying to learn every day at school.

Happy Father's Day

So blessed and happy that A and I were able to celebrate Father's Day 2012 with Papa in the Philippines.

As always, it is a great feeling to be with family.
The travel may be a pain in the ... since it is 18 hrs of travel but it was worth it. I don't mind sitting in the plane, eat and sleep.

A and I don't have much money but we managed to visit our family back home.
Supposedly, we are going to Hawaii for a vacation but as it was getting closer to my vacation leave, I changed my mind and went to PI.

Too Many Parties

Summer is the season where people are so busy with different outdoor activities.

Parties here and there.

A and I were invited for a birthday and graduation party. I got the invitation first for the graduation and confirmed that I am attending. Bad me, I fell asleep yesterday! When I woke up, it was too late to drive and be with friends. Bummer!

Today, another graduation party is being held. I declined and don't feel like going anywhere. At the end, I ended up working late afternoon. My Sup called if I can come to work because of some circumstances...I love my job, might as will work and tow my A with me.

Tomorrow, there's a picnic at Eldorado Springs and I doubt it if I go, I know the motive of the get together. I verify with the person inviting me. We joked each other about it. I'm single but not ready to mingle.

I have a great friend who is so nice to me and I'm sure that person is reading this blog of mine. You know who are you, it is YOU!...:)

My Lawn, My Joy

During my free time, I love to stay outside and do some light yard works. Glad we have a place called home where we can breath fresh air in the backyard.

A likes to play outside. While I am pulling some weeds or watering the grass, she's happily singing and swinging in her swing.  I am thinking of planting some flowers, tomatoes and eggplants.

Being a homebody, it would teach me how to get away from the mall...wink! I doubt it, in life we need to balance life. Doing variety of stuff just makes our world go round:) Keeping up life, in general!

Happy For Pamangkin

I have 19 pamangkins (nephews and nieces) and I'm so proud of them. JR stands out from the rest of them, I guess.

At school, he is a member of the dance troop and so with the glee club (singing). He's popular in the school where he's going to.

In fact, they joined the showtime, the show where Ann Curtis is one of the hosts.

Keep up the good work, JR! We are all here to support you.

Moving Here

Thanks for the guest post by Jonathan Curtis

I thought when I moved here with my husband that we’d be working the land together and waking up early to gather eggs and all that – I didn’t really think that this would be so hard. As it turns out he’s gotten a full time job so it’s all up to me to keep this farm running when he’s not here. I’ve made some upgrades like hiring a farmhand and I went to hughesnet.com to get internet so I could contact vendors and order stuff online but at the end of the day running this small farm is way more work than any job I’ve ever had in my life. I know we were talking about starting to have kids when we moved out here but you know, at this rate I don’t think I have enough energy at the end of the day to wash the dishes much less chase a toddler around. I don’t know where my husband thinks I’m going to find the time to be a mom!

What A Great Easter!

Thankful to a friend for the thoughtfulness:) A's so happy with her big, big Bunnies. Well, one is for me, supposedly but she hugs both. That's okay, the generous heart really understand the concept...wink!

Early morning, as early as 4:00 A.M, we woke up so we can attend the Easter Sunrise Service at Red Rocks. It was A and I's 1st time. What a blessing to have friends around where we can carpool with them.

After the service, A took a nap and then late afternoon, we carpool again with another friend so our kids can have Egg hunting while the parents are having a party and as usual enjoying the Filipino food.

What a busy and wonderful Easter we had!

My Godsister (Igso- Inaanak ng Nanay Ko)

What a great privilege to see my so called little sis for visiting us in Colorado for 5 days.
They arrived last Saturday morning driving all the way from Norman, Oklahoma.

The last time I saw her, she was still a baby and crawling all over the boarding house we were living.

Amazing that for how many years, we crossed our path again and the reunion is in a different country. We never know where life gonna lead us, huh!

As always, glory and honor to Him for giving us the opportunity to be reunited even for just 5 days of bonding. Superdooper, my A's so happy to have someone at the house.

To be continued...busy at work:)

Hold Onto Good Deals

Guest written by our friend Trent Horton

I think I actually have the website, www.DirectStarTV.com, book marked on my computer at home. I did it a few months ago when I was first considering getting a different TV service set up at our house. I think I came across it and realized how nice it would be to have installed. It had a lot of local channels available and at a really good price compared to what we were getting using our other provider. I am loyal to companies and providers when they are worth being loyal to. I am definitely loyal to this company now. Any time I have needed help, it has been so easy to talk to a person about the problem I was having. The bill is not high at all and I definitely think I am getting more than what I am paying for. I love that feeling. It is a sign that you have a real deal and it is definitely rare to find that nowadays it seems. Once you find a good deal, you have to stay loyal to it as long as it works and so far, this one is working. Thank goodness for that!

What A Blissful Life

A secret to happiness in life can be found in yourself.

People has been asking how do I survive with all the monthly bills and with a kid in tow being just a part time worker.

Well, the explanation is just so simple, have faith and be faithful in your giving. Of course, have a good heart. Being vocal and straight forward can be tough. As the saying says...truth can hurt:)
I'm not a very religious person but I do believe in returning of what the Lord has given to us.

Life is so smooth and simple without worries. Of course, make sure you know how to budget and don't go overboard of what you only have. For sure, debts is bad.

No matter how much sacrifice you do in life to become rich without a giving heart, life is empty and miserable.

God don't want His people to be poor and miserable. He has to make sure that His children has enough and it is really true. There maybe some rough roads but it is just a way of God's reminder to us that, "oooppps! wrong turn, keep it straight".

This is my blog and this is my way of expressing how I feel and sharing the good and the bad stuff...wink!

Never get stress about life, just keep going and be faithful.

Being Busy

Unbelievable how busy I am! With my A on Spring break, I have to make sure that she's enjoying her day as much as possible.
My bad for not taking a leave so we can go somewhere.
Well, she's enjoying being with me at work. She has plenty of stuff to do:)... I guess...wink!

It was so cute when she asked me one time if I have something special for her on Spring Break. Surely, she will have a road trip (sa kadaplinan lang gud!)

Thankful from Above for all the people that surrounds us who are so nice and great!

I better keep myself busy at work. Like what?

All Week

Wow! Must be nice, not too hot and not too cold. I'm talking about our weather here in the Rockies.

I'm not sure yet if I will turned off my heater now or wait for a little. My Excel is not too bad for keeping it on all winter long.

And yes, I am happy today. Just thinking the positive side of life just make my day going:)

Have a good one!

Red Carpet Inspiration For My Daughter's Prom Look

Guest post written by Shannon Doriston

My daughter and I both love to read celebrity magazines and see what actresses were wearing on their way to get coffee and things like that. So you can imagine how we react when it's award season. We treat the red carpet coverage like it's the super bowl or something! We even make special snacks for it! It's only natural that we took notes during this year's award show season to figure out what kind of dress she wants to wear to her prom in April.

But after all those notes, sometimes it's hard to find dresses that were similar to the ones that we saw on the red carpet. One night when we were scouring the internet for some celeb dress lookalikes we saw the site DebtSettlementFamily. I saved the link to come back to later and think I'm going to use the site's services to help settle some debt that our family has.

We've found some lookalikes for some great ones on the red carpet, like the green one that Emily Blunt wore to SAG awards. Green has always looked great on her, so that may definitely be a great option. But you never know until you actually try on a dress!

Dr. Seuss The Lorax in 3D

I'm so proud as a Mom, My A got all straight A's for the Term 2 again. As a treat and celebration for her hard work, we will go and watch the movie above.

She loves Dr.Seuss and I'm sure it's gonna be fun.

Oh! The weather is so beautiful today. A good day to stroll after movie time!

Engagement

Post contributed by Hilton Miranda

I got engaged three months ago and the bliss lasted for about a minute. I mean, I am thrilled to be getting married and I know that I am marrying the best man that I could possibly find! I just get stressed when I have so much to do. As soon as I got that beautiful diamond ring on my finger, I also got a huge to-do list plopped in my lap. No, not a literal to-do list, but I have been dreaming about my wedding since I was a child and I want it to be perfect. There are so many details that need to be planned and worked out and I only have seven months to do it. Besides all the wedding plans, I am also having to get prepared to mesh my life with my fiance's life. There is so much of that stuff to figure out. Where are we going to live? Which furniture are we going to keep and which are we going to get rid of? I know we want a HOME SECURITY SYSTEMS, so we will have to decide which one to get. So many decisions and details.

'Til We Meet Again, DanPaul!

"Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going." John 14:1 - 4

"I am leaving you with a gift -- peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid." John 14:27

To DanPaul, may you rest in peace! I was so happy to see you last August in spite of your hectic schedule in Cavite. I didn't even know that there was something wrong with you. I just didn't bother to ask because we're all having a good time that night. You are such a handsome boy and so polite.
Things in life do happen for a reason. God has a purpose for each and everyone of us. We do love you, DanPaul and I don't want to say goodbye but 'til we meet again!

To the bereaved family, my heartfelt condolence. DanPaul will be missed but we all know that he is in the good hand of our Almighty.

I Love Purses

I don't mind buying purses once a year as long as it has quality.

Saving money for a year so I can have the purse that I want is worth it. Yes, I like to collect purses and Hub was my mentor choosing quality of life.

There's nothing wrong to be high maintenance as long as you can maintain it, right? :)

I remember the first time I step here. I bought this okay clothes and then I washed it, too bad, it got destroyed in the washer.

Hubby said, "See, I told you,Dear!"

Well, I was trying to be thrifty but realized it was just a waste of .... you know!

Have a good one and happy Presidents' Day, America!

Texting

With the new generation, texting is so easy for them. In my part, I just learnt this thingy recently because of a friend who encourage me about it.

Well, my hands got tired of it. I'd rather type into the keyboard than the tiny letters in the cellphone.

What can I say, happy texting world!

Mom and Me

Mom and Me

Thanks for the guest post by Esteban Vinson

Mom and I are all about emailing each other during the day although she’s gotten even more into it than I am. I think she’s amazing but she’s all about forwarding those ridiculous chain emails and sending me just about any coupon she gets in the mail. I don’t really understand it but I think it has something to do with her not being as used to the internet as I am – she didn’t grow up with it like me. I helped her get Hughesnet Internet at home when she and dad moved to their new house and I know that’s the primary way she keeps in touch with my aunts since they work all day. I love my mom but she’s got unrealistic expectations about how available everyone should be for her emails – she gets crazy if I don’t answer her 10 minutes after she writes it – doesn’t she realize I’m not sitting at home monitoring my inbox like she’s doing, apparently? Mom needs to get a grip on reality!

My Cousin's Visit From Philippines

What a busy weekend I had with my cousin visiting us. Well, he has a visitor's visa and was granted by the immigration for 10 years of visitation. It is called multiple entry.

This year, he asked me if he can visit us. He made it last weekend and we're happy to see him.
